Electrical Inspection & Testing

Electrical Installation Condition Report Inspections and the accompanying official reports have never been more vital than they are today. Failure to comply can lead to criminal charges as well as the invalidating your insurance policies.  An accident or any other tragedy as a result of damaged, faulty or unsafe electrics could be catastrophic for everyone concerned – including the very future of the company itself.  We are fully accredited from the NICEIC to carry out mandatory periodic inspections on all types of premises.  We have the skills, the qualifications and the know-how to provide the level of service you require to give you complete reassurance and peace of mind.  We are also authorised to issue the Electrical Installation Condition Reports confirming compliance that you, the authorities and your insurance companies demand.

The fundamental reason for performing a Condition Report for an electrical installation is to determine whether existing installations are safe to remain in service until the next inspection is due. A Condition Report is required to assess the condition of the electrical installation and compliance with BS 7671.
All installations are subject to wear and tear, corrosion excessive loading and other environmental issues. Any of these can lead to major electrical breakdowns if they are not observed and rectified at regular intervals.

The Condition Report includes the following operations:

  • Visual inspection of the installation
  • Inspection of continuity of protective conductors (including equipotential bonding conductors)
  • Continuity of ring circuit conductors
  • Polarity
  • Earth fault loop impedance test
  • Insulation resistance test
  • Operation of devices for isolation and switching
  • Operation of residual current circuit breakers
